KT SAT to Host First Satellite Conference in South Korea

KT SAT Ltd. Co., the satellite business subsidiary of KT Corp. (KRX: 030200; NYSE: KT), will hold the first global satellite conference in South Korea on October 11, bringing together industry leaders from around the world.




Korea Sat Conference 2018 Will Be Held on October 11 in Seoul 

Representatives of SpaceX, Blue Origin, Arianspace to Attend

 

Jointly hosted by the Korea Association for Space Technology Promotion, the Korea Sat Conference 2018 will focus on the future of the satellite industry and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It will be held at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotels & Residences, KT Corp.’s first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered hotel.

 

“The Korea Sat Conference is the first international satellite event organized by a private satellite services provider in South Korea,” KT SAT CEO Hahn Won-Sic said. “I hope it will be a great milestone for the country’s space industry to advance through the exchange of information and expertise.”

 

The key presentations include the“Development Direction of the Domestic Space Industry and Global Issues,” “The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Expanding Role of the Satellite Industry” and “The Shifting Paradigm of the Space Industry.” The main presenters will be from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).

 

Overseas participants will include representatives from SpaceX, a U.S. aerospace manufacturer and space transport service company, founded by Elon Musk; Blue Origin, a U.S. aerospace manufacturer and spaceflight services company owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos; Arianspace, France’s pioneering space transportation company; and Thales Alenia Space, a Franco-Italian aerospace manufacturer.​​​
